SciQuest has received two awards. Triangle Business Journal picked the company for its best places to work. Encorium Group appointed Wall Street veteran Shahab Fatheazam to its board of directors. The University of Cincinnati (UC) now offers a master’s degree program providing comprehensive training in clinical research for practicing physicians. The program was approved by the UC board of trustees in September and is currently under review by the Ohio Board of Regents. Here’s the release.

CMIC, a Japanese CRO, has joined Medidata’s program for contract research organizations. “This strategic partnership with Medidata came as a result of the growing demand for Medidata Rave among our customers in Japan and the Asia-Pacific region,” said Makoto Sato, corporate officer at CMIC. “We are confident that its ease of use and multi-language functionality will meet our customers’ needs for EDC at all phases of clinical trials and help them to successfully bring new medical solutions to market. One of the reasons for selecting Rave is that it furthers the goal of achieving completely electronic clinical trials.”

PHT Corporation is providing its electronic patient diary to headache experts at Clinvest Clinical Research, which is measuring cognitive deficits during migraine attacks. This is the first time cognitive processing time has been tested in a major migraine research study. “We didn’t have to reinvent the wheel for this program,” said Dennis Reeves, VP at Clinvest. “We partnered with PHT to integrate our highly sensitive cognitive processing test system into the LogPad. The test results are seamlessly transferred into the PHT database and we can access it for the data analysis. Because the LogPad automatically uploads the data to the database, the Clinvest analysis team can remotely review, download analyze and report on the cognitive data in real time.” Here’s the release.
