Nextrials said revenues were up 80 percent in 2007. The privately held company did not disclose any financial data, but said that during the year more than 24 sponsors started trials on its electronic data capture system, called Prism. One customer, Ekos, is a medical device manufacturer. Said Robin Carlson, Ekos’ director of clinical affairs: “We found we were able to quickly use Prism in trials validating our ultrasound-accelerated infusion catheters, and as a result, were able to review patient data in real-time. This helped our product development team to better understand clinical parameters and ensured the safety of patients enrolled in our studies.” Here’s the release.
