Covance expanded its facilities in Singapore for food manufacturers in the region. Manufacturers operating in Asia to export food to the U.S. will soon be able to send samples to a laboratory in Singapore. Chinese state media stated that the Singapore lab will initially focus on the testing of infant formula for release, stability and labeling data, and also include testing of food and health supplements. Joseph Herring, chairman and chief executive officer of Covance, said: “Testing here will reduce that testing time by 50 percent.” Next month, Akaza, the provider of open source clinical trial software, expects to unveil a new version of its web-based electronic data capture software OpenClinica Research. The new version will include support for internationalization and localization. Tom Hickerson, OpenClinica’s senior project coordinator said: “The internationalization features in OpenClinica 2.2 will provide an easy-to-use general purpose infrastructure for running OpenClinica in any language.” The localization kit…more...
